Visitor VISA

VISITORS TO CANADA

More than 35 million people visit Canada every year for various reasons including visiting family and friends.  Other purposes to visit Canada are to attend seminars, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, or receiving medical treatment. If you wish to come to Canada for a temporary purpose as mentioned above, you may need a Temporary Resident Visa, unless you are a citizen from a “visa exempt” country like the USA, UK, or Australia.

Process

A Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), also referred to as a visitor visa or Canada Tourist visa, is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident. Most visitors can stay for up to 6 months in Canada.

TYPE OF VISITOR VISA

SINGLE ENTRY VISA

A single-entry visa allows to enter Canada only once. Once you leave Canada that’s it. You will require a new visa should you wish to enter Canada again. This does not hold though should you leave Canada and travel to the US or St. Pierre and Miquelon.

MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA

A multiple entry visa grants you unregulated entry and exit of out of Canada for a period of 6 months without having to apply again. It’s valid for 10 years.
